Today marks the four-year anniversary of the Abraham Accords Declaration, signed by the United States, Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates on September 15, 2020. The agreement, which later included Morocco, was established to maintain and strengthen peace in the Middle East and globally.
To commemorate this milestone, House Abraham Accords Caucus Co-Chairs Ann Wagner (MO-02), Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05), Brad Schneider (IL-10), and David Trone (MD-06) issued a joint statement.
“Four years ago, the Abraham Accords were signed, forging a path towards strengthened and sustained peace in the Middle East. The importance of this historic agreement cannot be overstated as Israel continues its fight for self-determination against Iran and its proxies, including Hamas. The resilience of the Abraham Accords – and the foundation of respect, human dignity, and freedom they are built on – should give us all great hope that our brightest days are still to come. Together, we can and will continue to build on the progress we’ve made and achieve a safer and more prosperous future for the next generation.”
The Abraham Accords aim to foster tolerance and respect for every individual to create a world where all can live with dignity and hope regardless of race, faith, or ethnicity.
Established in January 2022, the Abraham Accords Caucus aims to build on the success of this historic agreement by serving as a platform for identifying and advancing strategic partnerships that benefit not only the United States and Israel but also other nations involved in or inspired by these accords.
