Patent office approves 2 patents for Wildwood innovators in week ending Aug. 15

There were two patents granted in Wildwood in the week ending Aug. 15, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is two more than the week before. Patents included a database and web-based infrastructure for enhancing event-planning tools.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending Aug. 15 belonged to Charles Robert Justus who filed in Dec. 28, 2018.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
