St. Louis metro surpass Laredo in 2019

The St. Louis metro area exported $10.7 billion in 2019, more than exports from Laredo in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The St. Louis metro area consists of 10 counties.

The Laredo metro area comprises one counties exporting $10.6 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
